We lead with safety.
At H&P, people are at the heart of everything we do. Our commitment to Controlling And Removing Exposures for ourselves and others is more than a safety initiative, it reflects a people first culture where everyone from CEO to floorhand is empowered and expected to Actively C.A.R.E. Every task. Every site. Every tour. Because real progress is not just about performance, it is about ensuring everyone goes home safely.
Technology plays a critical role in delivering on that commitment. By integrating advanced HSE technologies into our operations, we strengthen our ability to reduce risk, improve consistency and create safer rig environments. These tools enhance hazard awareness, support better decision making and reinforce our shared responsibility to protect one another.
How HSE Technology Supports Safer Operations
Rig Floor Automation
Hydraulic pipe wrench (ST-80 or HexGripTM 120 floor wrench), retractable slip lifters
Benefit
Reduces manual handling of pipe and exposure to pinch points
FlexChecks
Pre-job planning checklists with rig/crew-specific data
Benefit
Improves task preparation, accountability and new-worker awareness
Caliper Calculator
Validates and records tool joint measurement
Benefit
Reduces the chance that incorrect equipment uses and dropped object risks
FlexTips
On-site task videos from field and training team
Benefit
Reinforces safe practices through real-world examples
Pre-Job Planning Tools
Our Pre-Job Planning Tools bring intelligent technology into the earliest stages of the job, helping crews identify risks, align on critical tasks, and make smarter decisions before operations begin. The result is improved consistency, reduced risk, and safer performance across the fleet.
FlexChecks
An automated tool that verifies measurements against tolerances, guiding crews and reducing operational risk.
eJSAs
Digital pre-job planning tool that identifies hazards and ensures consistent, safe procedures fleet-wide.
RigConnect
Collaborative platform for crews and remote teams to review plans, safety steps, and updates in real time.
ePermits
Standardized digital permits ensure hazards, controls, and approvals are properly reviewed before high-risk work.
FlexTips
Visual guides and 3D animations that demonstrate safe practices and lessons from serious risk events.
10 H&P SIF-Critical Tasks
A SIF-Critical Task is an activity that, if not performed correctly, has the potential to result in a Serious Injury or Fatality. Identifying and controlling these tasks ensures that high-risk work is done safely and consistently across operations.
Advanced Safety Technologies
Our Advanced Safety Technologies use real-time data, automation, and smart alerts to proactively identify risks and support safer drilling operations. These tools empower crews with the insights they need to prevent incidents, protect personnel, and drive more consistent safety performance across the fleet.
Technology empowers us to be more intentional in where we dedicate human expertise. Along with creating barriers between us and workplace exposures, it enables us to work more creatively in addressing critical challenges. Most importantly, these technologies help us Actively CARE for everyone on the rig site by Controlling and Removing Exposures.

Visibility That Supports Safer Operations
Remote Operating Centers
H&P’s Remote Operations Centers (ROC) serve as a real-time, globally connected extension of the rig floor, combining live operational data, automation and drilling expertise to actively support drilling performance across the fleet.
Operating continuously across multiple centers worldwide, the ROC provides 24/7 expert coverage, ensuring drilling support is always available regardless of time zone, geography, or operational location.
Rather than functioning as a passive monitoring center, the ROC operates as a distributed layer of drilling expertise that actively influences operational outcomes in real-time.
Live CCTV Monitoring
Live CCTV feeds from our rigs provide real‑time visibility into critical operations, improving safety oversight and decision‑making. This connection enables proactive hazard identification, remote audits and continuous situational awareness across field operations.
