Introducing Caleb Jackson, culture and belonging specialist, principal in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Margaret Donald, talent and development business partner based in Aberdeen, UK. Whose offices are across the world but they come together to work toward a common goal.

At the heart of our new Culture & Belonging journey are these two passionate champions. While their career paths began in different places, their shared commitment to people, growth and authentic collaboration has helped shape our future approach to culture at H&P.

Jackson and Donald both lead with a people-first mindset. Donald, who began her career in HR and people development, and Jackson, whose journey took him from finance to nonprofit leadership and ultimately to culture and belonging, have each experienced the power of supportive workplaces. Both believe that when employees feel valued and included, they thriveโ€”and so does the business.

Shared Values and Authenticity

โ€œCulture is shaped by every individualโ€™s daily action and attitude, with the โ€˜power of perspectiveโ€™ as a key principle,โ€ explained Jackson.

โ€œCreating a safe, psychologically supportive space where employees feel heard and can contribute to culture-building is key. Developing a shared language around our core values and what they mean to each person can help support belonging across regions and cultures, going beyond structured initiatives. Individuals who embody our core values, through their own lens, are powerful contributors to embodying the culture they wish to see.โ€

Learning from Each Other

Their day-to-day work may look different, but their priorities are strikingly similar: fostering environments where everyone can show up authentically, building trust and ensuring that development is meaningful and accessible. Both are energized by helping others reach their potential and are driven by the belief that culture and belonging are not just HR initiatives, but business imperatives.

Despite coming from different legacy organizations, Jackson and Donald quickly discovered that their differences were a source of strength. Donald brought a structured, well-established, successful approach from legacy KCA Deutag, while Jackson contributed a fresh perspective and a vision for scaling culture and belonging across a global organization.

Through open, honest conversations, they learned to challenge each otherโ€™s assumptions and blend their best ideas. Donald appreciated Jacksonโ€™s focus on psychological safety and the lived experience of employees, while Jackson valued practical frameworks and Donaldโ€™s ability to connect development with business outcomes.

Both agree that their collaboration has been most successful when theyโ€™ve been willing to listen, adapt and build trust.

โ€œDoing something bigger and better as opposed to holding onto existing practises was always the goal,โ€ explained Donald. โ€œIn my view, it leads to long-lasting and more meaningful outcomes.โ€

Jackson agreed that humility and a hunger to learn underpins their collaboration. โ€œWe are embodying the concept of the โ€˜ideal team playerโ€™, someone who is humble, hungry and smart,โ€ he explained. โ€œThis mindset respects each legacy contribution and an openness to blend approaches, avoiding a focus on which legacyโ€™s methods were best.โ€

The resultโ€ฆ a unified strategy for the future of Culture & Belonging at H&P that honors the strengths of both organizations and sets a new standard for whatโ€™s possible.

Looking Ahead to 2026 and a Call to Action

H&Pโ€™s new Culture & Belonging Council met for the first time at the end of January.

Both Jackson and Donald are excited about the opportunities that come with a more integrated, global H&P and see 2026 as a year of clarity, connection and momentumโ€”where employees have more opportunities to shape the culture.

With a focus on building trust across teams, functions and regions; enhancing feedback loops so employee voices are meaningfully heard and acted upon and creating more consistent employee experience, the 2026 direction is clear.

Contributing Now and in the Future

This partnership is a testament to the power of curiosity, openness and shared purpose. Together, Jackson and Donald remind us that while our journeys may start in different places, itโ€™s our shared values and willingness to learn from each other that truly unite us as One Team on One Journey.

โ€œBe ready to embrace new opportunities. Be intentional with networking to grow and maintain connections and cultural understanding. We canโ€™t underestimate the role of emotional intelligence in building an inclusive culture.โ€

โ€œBe intentional in embodying the culture you want to see. Move beyond our โ€˜legacyโ€™ organizations towards a new unified company rooted in our shared values.โ€
