Our drilling services have enabled geothermal projects with installed geothermal capacities between 10 and 26 MWs each. Through the 22 geothermal wells that we have drilled with our conventional fleet in Europe between 2013-2022 we continue to learn and adapt our offering so it is ever more suitable to the needs of district heating, power generation customers and geothermal technology providers.
We are an important contributor to the role that geothermal energy is playing within the energy transition in some of our key markets. We are also an active stakeholder of the European Geothermal Energy Council (EGEC), the Bundesverband Geothermie (BVG), and Geothermie Nederland.
Our aim is to go beyond our current drilling services and to be able to offer a wider range of well construction activities, so the total well costs are lowered and our geothermal customers reduce their contractual interfaces. In doing this, we are also committed to the reduction of carbon emissions as our land rigs can run from the electricity grid or, if this is unavailable or insufficient, the rig’s power management system optimizes fuel consumption and therefore reduces emissions.
