JJob Title:                  Network Administrator

Job Summary:       The Network Administrator is primarily responsible using independent judgment and discretion in administering all activities relating to technical guidance in planning, directing, and monitoring network server systems; also responsible for ensuring that long term requirements of systems operations and administration is included in the overall information systems planning of the organization.                            

Job duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Manage and monitor server data backups.
• Performs server administration including server OS installs, configuration and maintenance.
• Performs network user administration including new hire network access, terminations, name changes, inter-office transfers, and drive mappings.
• Monitors and maintains virtual server environment.
• Maintains production change control schedule and participates in change control.
• Assists network manager with planning, directing and monitoring information systems operations.

               
Qualifications:
•             Thorough knowledge of networking , including Local and Wide area networks/connections.
•             Thorough knowledge of networking technology.
•             Thorough knowledge of network security.
•             Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Server software.
•             Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating system.
•             Basic knowledge of virtual server concepts.
•             Good troubleshooting skills.
•             Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with
                management.
•             Ability to be on-call and work after hours.
•             Ability to travel as needed (passport required).

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems and 2-4 years of client/server experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
